Terms of Service

Last updated 5 August 2026

These terms apply when you use Ceaseless Mind. By using the app you accept them. If you do not, please do not use it.

What Ceaseless Mind is

Ceaseless Mind is an app for playing interactive fantasy stories. You choose a book, make a character, and say what you do next by typing or speaking. Bex, the narrator, writes what happens in response and can read it aloud. Bex is artificial intelligence, not a person.

What Ceaseless Mind is not

It is a game, not a support service. Bex is a narrator in a work of fiction. It is not a companion, counsellor, therapist or clinician, and nothing it says is advice of any kind.

Nobody is reading what you write. The app does not monitor your messages, does not assess your state of mind, and will not contact anyone on your behalf under any circumstances. If you are in danger or in crisis, contact emergency services. In the UK call 999, or the Samaritans free on 116 123.

It can be wrong. AI systems make mistakes and can state incorrect things with complete confidence. Do not rely on anything the app tells you as fact, particularly about your health, your money or your legal position.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or over. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and for keeping access to your device and sign-in secure.

Subscriptions and payment

Ceaseless Mind is free to download and free to start playing. Some books and features, including voiced narration beyond the opening of a story and the premium-only titles in the catalogue, require Bex Premium, a monthly subscription sold through the App Store. A free trial may be offered to new subscribers.

Your content

What you write stays yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service: to store your characters and turns, process them, and send them to the AI providers listed in our Privacy Policy so the story can continue.

Content the app generates for you, such as narration, scenes, images and music, is yours to use. Because of how AI models work, similar output may be generated for other people, so we cannot promise it is unique to you or that you own it exclusively.

The stories

The books are fiction. What happens is generated in response to your choices and will differ every time, so no two playthroughs are the same and we cannot promise any particular outcome. Stories may include peril, conflict and other mature themes. Characters, places and events are invented; any resemblance to real people is coincidental.

Acceptable use

Do not use Ceaseless Mind to:

We may suspend or close accounts that do these things.

Availability

We provide the service as it is, without guaranteeing it will always be available or uninterrupted. Books, features and the catalogue may change or be withdrawn. We rely on third-party providers, and their outages will affect us.

Ending it

You can stop at any time and delete your account from inside the app, on the Account screen. Deletion is permanent and takes your saved games with it. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or if we stop offering the service.

Liability

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.

Otherwise, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

You are responsible for decisions you make based on what the app tells you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top will change and, where it matters, we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use the app means accepting the updated terms.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer elsewhere, you keep the protections of your own country's law.
